Just My Luck

Diego shrugged. "It doesn't matter." He stripped off his shirt there in the middle of the room and put on the red one. He started to button it up fully, but remembered the pictures of 'sexy' musicians Kenzie had forced him to study, and did up only one low button so his bare chest could be seen. "Is this right?"

Aldo turned and... wow....

He couldn't speak. Though he was sure the blush kreeping up on his face spoke volumes. He turned away quickly and said "y-yeah! Definatly you!"

Oblivious to Aldo's reaction, Diego found a mirror to check out the shirt. Just then Kenzie burst in. The words on her lips died when she saw how Diego was now dressed; then she saw how it affected Aldo and grinned wickedly. She would definitely be teasing him about this later, though she wasn't so cruel as to embarrass him by bringing it up in front of Diego. Instead, she just said "We've only got one song. Shouldn't be too hard to find one that works."

Aldo turned back to the others and said "Blow Lenore outta the water guys"

"You got it!" Kenzie gave him a thumbs up and grabbed Diego's arm. "We'll be back when we have our lyrics for you." She dragged him off to an empty lounge to discuss their song.

Suoh found Kenzie and Diego. He smiled and asked "Have you decided on a song?"

Kenzie nodded. "We've got it. We're doing 'Shine'."

"Shall I prepare a studio for you to practice in then?" Suoh asked.

Kenzie shrugged. "We know the song well, and we can practice anywhere. We'll be ready. Unless you want us to play it now so you can hear it?"

Suoh smiled and said "sure"

Kenzie hopped up. "Oh, wait one minute!" She ran off to fetch Aldo so he could hear the song he was designing for. Soon they were all in the studio. Kenzie opted to play the keyboard. "Diego writes most of our songs, but this one was mine," she explained. "We figure it's a good choice for our introduction to the fans."
She was playing the intro as she spoke, and now Diego stepped up to the microphone and began to sing.

Suoh clapped as the song ended and said "Very well done! It's sure to make an impression for your debut" Aldo just stood, dumb-struck by Diego's voice. What a voice! He shook his head as if to clear his head and said "I'll buy the first album"

Kenzie beamed. "I'm so glad you like it! We're gonna knock 'em dead at our debut." Diego was actually smiling without being told to, filled with the joy that only singing brought.

In the adjacent recording booth, hidden from their view, Lenore sulked. "They aren't that good. Ava shook her head. "I beg to differ. Your performance may become the launch of two of our hottest stars. How wonderful that they've been given this chance." Lenore stormed off, muttering "This performance is about me. No one cares about a couple of wannabe kids." Ava followed, wearing a predatory smile.

Aldo got up to leave, saying "well, better get to your outfits" And with that he left to work. Suoh left as well, saying "I must tend to another artist, so feel free to practice more or take a breather"

Kenzie and Diego ran through the song a couple more times, tweaking it a bit to fit better with Lenore's pop performance. Diego went home after that, but Kenzie stayed behind to work on the music, determined that their debut be absolutely perfect. She was one of the last to leave the building.

They arrived back early the next day. They had some time to kill before they were supposed to meet with Suoh, so they headed for the costume department to see if Aldo had any ideas for them yet.

Aldo hummed away as he hung up the new outfit he had ready. It was the design he had for Kenzie: a blue shirt that only had one sleeve and a star design on the front, with black faded jeans and grey high-tops.

Kenzie practically skipped into the room, eager to see if Aldo had come up with anything yet. "Hey! We're early, so we figured we'd stop by." She spotted the new outfit. "Hey, is that mine? Awesome!" Diego nodded his approval, giving Aldo a rare smile.

Aldo smiled back at the two and said "glad you like it. I was about to start on Diego's outfit"

Kenzie bounced on her toes. "I guess we'll be back later then. We need to meet with Suoh. I guess with our debut coming up, we'll need to start recording for a first album too." Diego stepped close to Aldo, pointed at his lips, and looked at Kenzie. "Should I have that?"
"... The piercing? Well, you could use something to improve your 'rock' image. We'll think about it."

Aldo froze for a moment, unable to find his voice. He cleared his throat, telling himself he means the piercing.he means the piercing.he means the piercing. and said "I, uh.... know someone who'll do it for ya dirt cheap" He stepped away and fanned himself, quickly adding "boyisithotinhereorisitjustme.youshouldgoseeSuohnow"

"Sure." Kenzie cheerily shoved Diego out of the room, them turned back to Aldo. "Don't you think he'd look dead sexy with a few piercings in his ears? Not that you seem to have any problem with his current looks. We'll leave you to your fantasies; just don't go drooling on my outfit. Ta-ta!" She hurried after Diego and they entered Suoh's office together.

Aldo stuttered "H-Hey!!" as the door closed he muttered "I was not fantasizing..."

Suoh smiled as he saw the two come in. He filed some papers and said "Good Morning. Are you ready to get started?"

Kenzie nodded and gave a mock salute. "Ready, willing, and able, mon capitan!" Diego raised an eyebrow at her, and when she seemed about to go into a ramble he sighed and covered her mouth. "Yes, we're ready."

Suoh got up and lead Kenzie and Diego to the recording studio and said "For the recording I will be leaving you with Jessie-San. He will be the one recording the album"

Ava was passing by when Suoh left the studio. She smiled at him. "Recording already, and a debut just days away? You're certainly wasting no time. They must be something special."
