Poor Unfortunate Souls

Darin went to help Henry frowning as Alex went to go lead with the lantern, having picked up some oil. "I wonder who that person was who caught the guard's attention..." She mused as she walked down the hallway opposite from the one the guards went down.

"Another escaped prisoner?" Adam suggested "It would make with the way he spoke to the guards"

"Who in the right mind would want those guards after them? Those things are dangerous." Darin replied.

"I wanted zem after me so I could see what zey were looking at" Rene replied as he turned the corner. He smiled and continued "zey are a Double D - Dangerous, but Dumb"

"Someone is sure brave..." Alexandra laughed as Darin rolled his eyes slightly, not impressed.

"I was told to wait in my cell until someone came for my 'test'. I found out zat zey were going to gouge my eyes out for some reason. I decided it was not worth waiting for help so I escaped. Since you don't look quite as mutilated as zee guards I assume you are prisoners to?" Rene said as he approached. He poked Henry's head and asked "iz he dead?" Adam smaked his hand away and said "No. He collapsed. We don't know why" Rene walked away and said "pity. If he were dead it would be easier to leave him"

"Fun." Darin replied not that interested in Rene, as Alex sighed slightly at the dead comment. "He will be okay soon, I hope..."

Rene thought for a moment and said "Perhaps he was used to test some of zair potions. I've seen a few scattered notes about such side effects from zair studies." Adam sighed and cut in "Look, either be useful, or get out of the way. We need out" Rene laughed and replied "impossible. Zere are no maps of zis labyrinth-like dungeon, and he will only slow you down"

"This is getting annoying..." Alex admitted as she stared at the french man, finding his attitude uncalled for. Darin meanwhile dropped Henry allowing Adam to support his weight. "I'm game for ditching him." He said simply "He is going to set us back."

Adam struggled with Henry. It was awkward carrying a man older than him. As he lay Henry against a wall Henry said rather angrily "Glad to see... I am so easily tossed aside" Rene laughed at him and said "well well, what can we say? You looked quite pathetic." Henry got up and demanded "Who are you"

Rene bowed and said "Rene Archer, if you must know."

"Never said I knew you" Darin shrugged not caring as Alex scowled. "Stop it both of you!" She sneered glaring at Rene. "And you!" She stated walking over to Rene, pointing at his chest. "You! Stop trying to get us to turn on ourselves...'

Rene grabbed her hand and sneered back "Do. not. touch. me" He walked away and said "Zere iz a room ahead, covered in chainz. It would be worth your time to investigate" Henry scoffed as Rene left "B*s*a*d"

"Whatever!" Alex hissed, she refused to listen to this disrespectful man. "Sweet a chained up room... " Darin said, not very convinced, but he would check it out.

Adam looked around the corner and hissed "Shit! How the hell did he disappear like that?"

"I do not care, I hope he rots..." Alex insisted frowning as she went to walk off. "He is a jerk."

Walter sighed, vexed by the gag in his mouth and the tight chains around him. He was very aware of how tight his cage was secured because he heard the chains being wrapped around the iron maiden he was in, heard the locks, and heard the chains very muffled as though through a door.

Darin sighed going to walk, the group coming towards that said room of chains. Alex looked around quietly, annoyed by the french man as Darin stayed by the door bored.

Henry examined the chains and noted the layer of rust. He grabbed some chains and pulled, loosening it a bit. Adam went to help and they cleared the door. They opened the door and Henry sighed "w-well... how useful"

"I do not see how this is important..." Darin said as Alex helped carefully. "I guess we go in...." She sighed going to go open the door.

Henry searched a nearby desk and found a key for the iron maiden's chains. He opened it and gasped as the boy inside stared apathetically at the group.

Alex gasped when she saw him, not expecting someone to be inside it. "Are you okay?" She asked softly going to try and help him out, Darin not caring about the new comer.

Henry removed the boy's gag. The boy took a deep breath and said "Much better. My thanks" Adam looked at the boy and said "um... aren't you a little young? from the looks of things all the prisoners are above the age 18" The boy looked offended and said "I am over 2000 years old"

"Wait.. What." Alex stared at the boy confused when he told him he was over two thousand years old. Darin snorted as he approched him. "Alright, ya, whatever you say..."

The boy sighed and said "My name is" He began making an inhuman trilling sound deep in his throat. Adam snicked and said "what?" The boy continued "you may call me Walter"
