Bio: Rene was born in Orlais to a toymaker and a former slave. His father was killed when Tevinter slavers tried to take him and his wife during the night and he fought them off. The stress from the attack caused Melodie to go into labour early, but luckily Rene was born healthy. Renate lived long enough to hold his baby boy. Melodie had fallen asleep while Renate held their child, and when she woke up she found that Renate had died, still cradling Rene in his arms. When Rene was five years old his mother sold him to her master in exchange for her own freedom. Rene was hateful, but new better than to act on his anger. Instead he strived to please his master. He didn't ask for jobs, but he would do as he was told to the best of his abilities. Rene did this for one reason: if he didn't please his master then the other slaves paid for it. At seventeen he was sold yet again to a new master that saw him running errand and wanted him for his beauty. It was under this new master that he met the love of his life, Triage. She was the cook's assistant. They saw eachother at breakfast the day after he was bought and it was love at first sight. A week later they ran away together, rented a home, and raised a beautiful daughter, Romaine. Sadly, their master was not so easily discouraged. She searched for them, and after six years of running and hiding she finally caught them. Romaine was killed, as well as Triage who fought against the guards. Rene lost his will to fight after that. One night, after 'entertaining' his master, Rene snuck out of bed and went to the kitchen. He grabbed a knife and started cutting at his hair, the one thing his master was so proud of. The next day his master was furious. She hid him away, hoping to wait for his hair to grow back. But she had left him alone in her room, and he knew how to escape.
