Bio: Adan was a slave on the Antivan market, sold to The Crows at age ten. He did very well in his training and always got his target. Adan even managed to assassinate a King famous for his extreme paranoia and quickness to execute anyone he suspected to be an assassin. He was sent to Fereldan to track down and kill some renegade Crows. The Grey Wardens crossed his path as he was 'cleaning up' one of his targets. Adan got away before the Wardens could question him, but he secretly followed them and was at Ostagar when the Darkspawn struck. He was knocked out and dragged back into the woods. When he awoke he escaped with two other captives, but they ran into a broodmother and one of the captives with him was badly injured. Adan made it to the surface, but his injured companion died in his arms. Adan went to Deneram and found his friend Da'mi. He confided in his friend, unable to handle what happened on his own. The stress caused Adan to lose parts of his memory. He opened an orphanage in the city and stays in contact with Da'mi.

Bio: Hasur and Idam came to Fereldan on a ship from Kirkwall. A slaver smuggled the brothers onto the ship to be sent to their new master, but as luck would have it their 'master' asked very little of them. She even paid them. She explained that the reason she bought slaves was because she wanted to help free them as soon as possible until she could stop slavery entirely. When she learned that the brothers could wield magic she hired an apostate to train them. The brothers learned of the war and were given permission to support the king and join the Army.

Bio: Lyanna fell in love with a young bounty hunter and ran away from home to become his partner. They got married and by 22 she was pregnant. Unfortunately it was a difficult pregnancy, and fearing for the child's life they sought out a mage they'd heard rumors of who was an expert in magic delicate enough to be used on fragile infants. It was a lie, however; Lyanna's husband was killed by darkspawn controlled by the mage, who was obsessed with demons and planned to turn himself into an archdemon. He needed a sacrifice of pure innocence, so he forced Lyanna into labor. A human servant took the child to a sacrificial altar and returned with her blood, which the mage used in his ritual. It didn't work as he planned and he became a horrific beast, slaughtering the darkspawn before tearing himself apart. Ill, injured, and covered in darkspawn blood, Lyanna spent days crawling to safety in Lothering. There she was healed, but her rage at what had happened and the signs that she was tainted caused people to mistrust her. She lived for the last few years in a hut just outside of Lothering.

Bio: Mariel was the daughter of Orlesian merchants who traveled often in Ferelden. She was orphaned as a child when bandits killed her parents. She was raised in the Chantry in Redcliffe, initially planning to join the priesthood, but found she could not swear off violence knowing that by taking up a blade she could be out there sparing others from her parents' fate. She was sent away for training as a templar, but was uncomfortable with their harsh views of anyone who used magic. She befriended some of the mages, who taught her to be a spirit warrior, then returned to Redcliffe.

Bio: Adahl was purchased as a child by the owner of the Pearl to be a servant. As he grew into an attractive young man he started drawing clients' attention and was made an 'artisan', as his boss so delicately put it. He was harassed from a young age for being an elf, and for being first a servant and then a whore, so he quickly learned to defend himself. His knifework earned him the nickname Da'mi (little blade) from another elf in the whorehouse, and soon everyone called him that. One of the woman there took an interest in his blade skills and confided to him that she had a second, more lucrative occupation; she was an assassin. She taught him the basics and put him in touch with some of her contacts, and soon he was in high demand in both of his jobs.

Bio: Cadros was a rare instance where a human was sold into slavery. To save themselves from being thrown onto the streets, a family of refugees sold their son to a powerful magister. This magister abused Cadros unusual strength and often had him fight to the death. The Magister infused Lyrium into Cadros' blood, granting him the unnatural ability to phase through solid objects(only flesh, much to his master's disappointment). Though this ability proves useful, the lyrium in his blood causes Cadros constant pain, making him sensitive to even the lightest touch, and emotionally stifled him. Due to the pain of having lyrium infused directly into his blood, Cadros suffered from amnesia. His master taught him his name and place, leaving out any other 'unimportant detail'. After years of faithful service the magister betrayed Cadros' family, leaving them to die in the street while Cadros was unaware.

For fun, Cadros was ordered to kill a rival magister and then kill everyone else in the rival's mansion. It proved too much for Cadros and so he ran. Cadros managed to hitch a ride all the way to Ferelden. He was set upon by darkspawn and was tainted whilst on the run from his master who had followed him. By chance, Duncan was passing by and saved him. He went through The Joining and survived, gaining the nickname 'Fen'Harel' from a former Dalish when they learned of the massacre Cadros had performed. He was at Ostagar when Cailan was killed, and he was in the tower during the betrayal.
Other: Cadros was given the lyrium in his blood after his master found out that a rival magister had infused one of their slaves with lyrium under the skin(Fenris from the game). He secretly fears his master will find him and try to take him again even though he is a Grey Warden
